NSU is committed to assisting students in applying and earning scholarships. Whether you are an incoming freshman or a continuing/returning student, NSU has a wide variety of scholarship options for students to choose from.

Clubs and Organizations

From networking to leadership opportunities, NSU’s over 80 clubs and organizations allow our students to build lasting relationships while getting the full college experience.

Transfer Students

Whether you’re an incoming or current transfer student, NSU’s transfer advisors are available to assist you with transcript evaluation, information on degree programs and support services. NSU is where You Belong.

Graduate College

Whether transitioning to graduate school or returning to higher education, NSU’s graduate college is your next step. Choose from over 25 master's degrees and several certificate programs.

Nursing Scholarships

There are several nursing scholarships available. You will fill out this one application and check the boxes at the top next to the scholarships you would like to apply for. The application can be accessed from the link at the bottom of this page.

Please read through each scholarship and its requirements listed below. You will need to have ALL required documents saved and ready to attach to the application before you begin. Unfortunately, you cannot save the application and come back to it later.

Lela Canada Memorial Scholarship

  • Nursing majors
  • GPA: 3.25
  • Displays leadership in extra-curricular activities, on or off campus.

Please attach a list of activities you have been involved in. Preference to undergraduate students.

Martha Harrington Nursing Scholarship

  • Senior nursing student
  • GPA: 2.5
  • Strong academic performance
  • Have financial need
  • Potential for contribution after graduation

Preference to undergraduate students.

Nancy Ward Scholarship

  • Undergraduate
  • Nursing Major
  • Cherokee heritage
  • GPA: 3.0

Please attach copy CDIB card, a 1-2 page essay regarding your lineage with proof of relationship to Nancy Ward if applicable or discuss your Cherokee heritage and the importance of education, as well as a resume listing your work experience, awards, activities, honors, leadership positions and community service efforts.

Preference for descendants of Nancy Ward.

Dr. Janet Bahr Scholarship

  • Student pursuing a Master's degree in Nursing Education
  • Enrolled in at least 6 hours per semester.
  • GPA: 3.0

Please attach a one page essay on your future plans in Nursing Education. 

Lorena F. Walker Memorial Scholarship

  • Student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing 
  • GPA: 2.5

Preference to full time students
Preference given to graduate's from Braggs High School.
